摘要

Indian textiles and garment industry enjoys a significant place in the national economy and contributes substantially to export earnings of the country. The textiles sector employs about 3.5 crores people and is the second largest employer after agriculture. It contributes 17% to the total export earnings of the country and 4% to its GDP.
