Tai Ahmedabad Unit's Wide-ranging Activities To Promote Textile Industry And Trade

The Textile Association (India), the largest single professional body in the country with a membership of over 22,000 members, has now 27 federal units spread over almost all textile centers of the country. The Ahmedabad Unit of TAI was established on November 1 6, 1 948, and last year the unit completed 60 years and celebrated the Diamond Jubilee. The Ahmedabad Unit with over 4,000 members is the second largest in the TAI fold. The Unit has its healthy links with research centres and academia. The Gujarat Government has selected SEZs in areas like Ahmedabad, Surat, North Gujarat and Saurashtra for activities related to ginning, spinning, weaving, processing, technical textiles, etc.
