Construction of FTTx Access Network

The IT industry has reached a common understanding that Fiber To The Home/Premise(FTTH/P) fiber broadband access network will be the final settlement for the fixed broadband access network. But, as for when the FTTH/P fiber broadband access network becomes the mainstream, no definite schedule can be provided in the circle. For Japan, the world primary market of FTTH, the increase of the fiber access subscribers begins to exceed that of ADSL in 2005, and the fiber access gets to be the main access mode for new subscribers. But, in other areas of the world, the development of the fiber broadband access still stays at an initial stage. The development of the global fiber broadband access is quite unbalanced. Wei Leping, Chief Engineer from China Telecom said, "Enough patience and active preparation is essential and the only way to success".
