FCC Grants 21 Waivers to Build 700 MHz Band Safety Systems

The FCC has conditionally granted 21 waivers to allow cities, counties, states, and regions to build out 700 megahertz band public safety broadband systems ahead of any nationwide system. The only waiver petition it denied was one filed by New EA, Inc. (d/b/a Flow Mobile), with the FCC saying the North Dakota company did not qualify for a waiver under section 337 of the 1934 Communications Act, as amended, because it was not a public safety entity.
