From both parties, in different chambers, and on different committees, members of Congress are looking at ways to address perceived shortcomings of the way markets for digital platforms and big tech firms operate, with a wide range of potential legislative solutions. Rep. David Cicilline (D., R.I.), the chairman of the House Judiciary antitrust, commercial, and administrative law subcommittee, said on April 15 that he "lookfs] forward to crafting legislation that addresses the significant concerns we have raised" in a report on the findings of the subcommittee's 16-month investigation into the state of competition in the digital markets, which the full Judiciary Committee adopted during a lengthy markup session that began April 14 and ran late into the evening.
