Who should be India's next President?

Come July and a new President will be sworn in. Technically, the role of the president is largely ceremonial, and we citizens have no direct role in electing the president. But there is a crucial constitutional role that the President plays, certain decisions that he has to take at critical junctures makes the choice of the next President critical, atleast to the political parties that have a say in the election. Recent Indian Presidents have played a more involved role than in the past and have been able to vibe directly with the common man. Probably the reason why there is an all round increase of interest in who would succeed APJ Abdul Kalam.
