TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING EDUCATION AND THE COMMON CORE STANDARDS

The Common Core State Standards for ELA and math will eventually impact teachers of most subjects in most of the states. If the standards have been accepted by your state, then your best defense is a good offense! Familiarize yourself with the standards and how they apply to your courses and students-and be proactive in implementation. The CCSS are not intimidating and may even be helpful in validating the effectiveness of your program.
