ITEEA member Jorge Valenzuela of Richmond Public Schools recently took part in a panel hosted by the U.S. Senate Career and Technical Education Caucus. The panel was part of a briefing on "Infrastructure and CTE." The panel, which took place in late January at the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, DC was described as follows: "From infrastructure related to roads and bridges to telecom, water, energy, and more, career and technical education is critical to meeting workforce demands. A panel of experts will discuss how federal policy can support the intersection of infrastructure and CTE." After the panel discussion, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session. Jorge Valenzuela is the instructional specialist for the Richmond Public Schools Department of Career and Technical Education. He also serves as the chair of the Virginia Council on Technology and Engineering Education Supervision and serves as an ITEEA STEM Center National Teacher Effectiveness Coach.
