Innovation - into the future

摘要

Innovation is what it always was - the challenge of creating commercial and social value from knowledge and ideas. Although the question remains the same, the ways in which we answer it are constantly changing as the context in which innovation takes place shifts. Not for nothing do we see innovation management as a dynamic capability. Organisations need to have the ability to develop routines for innovation management but also the. second order capacity to adapt and reconfigure those routines in the face of shifting and turbulent environments. Innovation research needs to provide an input to this process, by enabling clearer understanding of the nature of these changes and their implications for how organisations organise and execute the process of innovation.
