Escape From Hellfire To Freedom is the true account of a German family, told through the eyes of a little girl, and their struggle to remain intact and survive the devastation caused by the bombing of their home and the city they lived in during wartime. It tells of the death and destruction of thousands who lived in a city that was completely destroyed by constant bombing, to the final blow when the city was captured by the Russians. The family treks across country from Konigs-berg, East Prussia, to Pillau and then to Danzig. Strafed by the Russians during this journey and with Russian ground troops following close behind, the family undertakes a sea voyage to Denmark while continuously followed by Russian submarines.
