Challenge: Resulting from significant growth through acquisition, our client, a Specialty Food Sales & Marketing firm, was challenged with consolidating three disjointed divisions. Providing customers with a single point of distribution for all product lines was paramount.Solution: As the logistics service provider for the largest division, Port Jersey Logistics worked closely with the client to develop and implement a plan which integrated and consolidated all three business units. A multi-stage plan was developed to transition one division at a time. For each, a coordinated effort was staged, bringing new product directly to our distribution center, depleting a large portion of inventory from the existing distribution center through attrition, and minimizing the transfer of any remaining inventory.
