UN Peacekeeping has evolved considerably from traditional observation and monitoring teams and peacekeeping operations, to today's complex design of peacemaking, peacekeeping and peace building. As a nation that has participated in most UN missions; as a nation that has consistently provided leadership in peacekeeping at all levels; as a nation where peacemaking, peacekeeping and peace building comes naturally due to its basic ethos of non-violence and reconciliation—India still has a lot to contribute to world peace and harmony!
