1. White House proposes centralizing Landsat management and funding at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). 2. Landsat-8 passes Critical Design Review in May 2010; cleared to begin manufacturing. 3. Decision to fly Landsat instruments on NPOESS spacecraft in lieu of free-flying Landsat is reversed; Landsat-8 now expected to launch in 2013.
