TASC To Help NGA Acquire New Apps

TASC of Chantilly, Virginia, won a contract worth as much as $25 million to help the U.S. National Geospatial Intelligence Agency evaluate and acquire new geospatial intelligence apps, according to a Jan. 23 press release from the company. The NGA hopes that by using commercial approaches it will be able to attract new ideas from industry, academia and small businesses, the release said. TASC will serve as the Application Operations Service Provider (AOSP) using a simplified approach to evaluate apps and ensure that they meet NGA requirements. "We hope to generate interest across a broad range of developers and bring NGA innovative products that fully address its security, performance and mission requirements," Amanda Brownfield, senior vice president of TASC's intelligence solutions and analytics sector, said in the release.
