Inmarsat Signs Two Global Xpress Resellers

Mobile satellite services provider Inmarsat of London has signed up Globecomm Systems Inc. and Satcom Direct as resellers for its forthcoming Global Xpress Ka-band broadband service. In a Jan. 20 press release, Inmarsat Government said network solutions provider Globecomm of Hauppauge, New York, would market Global Xpress services to U.S. government customers. Inmarsat Government is Inmarsat's government business unit. Global Xpress will provide broadband services throughout the world - with the exception of the extreme polar regions - using a constellation of Boeing-built satellites in geostationary orbit. The first satellite is in orbit, with two awaiting launches this year to inaugurate global service.
