New Study Recommends Major ITAR Changes

A new report strongly recommends that the U.S. government make significant changes to the country's arms export control regime for the space industry in the face of a consistent erosion of the American portion of the international space market. The report, "Health of the U.S. Space Industrial Base and the Impact of Export Controls," which was compiled by the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), recommends that commercial satellites and satellite subsystems and components be removed from the U.S. Munitions List.
