Europe divided, or Europe united? German and British press coverage of the 2008 European Championship

This article explores the dialogue of national and pana??European identities in German and British press coverage of EURO 2008. Its findings suggest that in media coverage of international football tournaments we may find traces of a common European identity. However, the concept of Europe that emerges is one of unity in diversity.
