EPA: Clean Power Plan review result will be revealed this fall

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that a proposed rule related to the review of the Clean Power Plan will be issued “in the fall of 2017.” In a brief status update submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Sept. 7, the EPA said a proposed regulatory action is being prepared as a result of the agency’s review of the carboncutting rule for existing power plants. A draft proposed rule has been sent over to the Office of Management and Budget’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, which typically reviews major regulatory actions before release to the public.
