'I'm Proud of YOU - Our Society'

The backbone of any organization is its members, both individual and sustaining. Today, I would like to salute you, our members. I am proud of our Society. I am proud of what we have accomplished together. Those who volunteer their time and services and work tirelessly for SMPTE, your efforts are commended. Your work is invaluable to the Society. As an organization, we can thrive only with the fortitude of everyone working together. In January, the Society was awarded an Emmy for our accomplishment in establishing the MXF standard, 377M, which has been very beneficial to broadcasting and other industries. This standard, which was originally developed under the W25 Technology Committee, was the result of the dedicated efforts and commitment of members such as Mike Cox, who served as chair, along with Bruce Devlin, Oliver Morgan, and Jim Wilkinson, who worked on the project from its inception to publication.
