摘要

The coupling of basin and orogen is a common phenomenon in continent tectonics. In the paper, we call the basin and orogen that have close relationship in origin and resulted from the united geological background as basin-and-range system. Based on its geodynamic features, basin-and-range system is classified into compression, extensional and sliding types. Its relationship with the oil-gas enrichment, especially in foreland basin-orogen system, is discussed.
