Guest Editorial: Performance Evaluation of Wireless Systems

Welcome to this special issue of SIMULATION: Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International on Performance Evaluation of Wireless Systems. This special issue is aimed at presenting recent research results in this vital field. The area of wireless systems has witnessed rapid and amazing development in recent years, which make it the greatest growing sector in telecommunications systems. New architectures, protocols, and performance evaluation models have been devised and researched by individuals and organizations worldwide to provide cost-effective and secure solutions, designs, and proper operation. As wireless systems have become more and more ubiquitous, it is necessary to predict and measure their performance. Significant progress has yet to take place to reach full integration of wired and wireless systems, so as to meet the desired quality of service (QoS), security level, and performance.
