摘要

The past 30 years or so have brought dramatic advances in digital microelectronic technology, most prominently in the areas of microprocessors, communication devices, and microcontrollers in a wide range of consumer equipment. At the same time there has been less publicized progress in power electronic devices and technology. Improvements in solid state switching devices have brought about a revolution in power systems technology at all levels from watts to megawatts. Developments in solid state switches and control algorithms have combined to produce a new generation of products that is providing greater quality and flexibility in power system design. The potential for smarter, more reliable, and more efficient sources of electrical power is now at a peak, and improvements in modeling and simulation (M&S) techniques applied to the design of these systems is now widely recognized as a compelling requirement.
