After sailing between Le Havre and Portsmouth for the past four years, LD Lines' pioneer vessel Norman Spirit (1991/28,833gt) stood down on 2 November and, following re-painting and attention in the French port's Joannes Couvert Dock, took over the Dover-Boulogne service ten days later,rnreplacing the catamaran Norman Arrow, which only joined the service at the beginning of June. Cote d'Albatre (2006/18,425gt) then switched to Norman Spirit's late afternoon Le Havre departure slot, returning overnight from Portsmouth, with trailer ferry Birka Exporter (1991/6,620gt) brought in on charter to fill Cote d'Albatre's slot sailing overnight from France and then departing Portsmouth the following morning.
