Names of new ships unveiled

Costa cruises is naming its two new/buildings Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa. The two 114,500gt sister ships can each carry 3,780 passengers and are currently under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard, with delivery in summer 2011 and spring 2012 respectively.rnThey also complete a fleet expansion programme worth €2.4 billion, which has already seen the entry into service of Costa Luminosa last May, Costa Pacifica in June and Costa Deliziosa this month.rnOver 40,000 travel agents worldwide submitted 16,000 different pairs of names as part of a 'Send us a sea of names' project. A shortlist of 25 pairs of names was posted on the Costa website and visitors were invited to choose their favourites, resulting in more than 42,000 preferences.
