New piles for the landing stage at Swanage Pier are seen being unloaded from work boat Buffalo as repairs funded by the Pier Trust, mainly thanks to public donations, began in April. Although it was feared at one stage no steamer calls would be possible this year, there are now hopes of visits by Waverley starting on 2 September and including a day trip from Worthing and Yarmouth, I0W, on 12 September, with the paddler making an afternoon cruise from Swanage to Lulworth Cove.
