Although prospects for the revival of a Scotland-Northern Ireland car ferry link last provided between Campbeltown, Kintyre, and Ballycastle, Antrim, in 1999 remain remote, a small-scale passenger service is to be started by Kintyre Express, running four days a week from May. An llm Redbay Stormforce rigid-inflatable will make two daily return trips, taking 90 minutes each way, with passengers required to wear lifejackets at all times.
