摘要

In service they are stealthy and silent and operate far from the public eye. Maybe because of that air of mystery they have become one of the most popular types of vessel to be preserved for public display, and more than 100 retired examples are currently on show around the world.rnMost types are represented, ranging from early designs to nuclear-powered missile boats, and there are also many smaller examples, such as midget submarines, human torpedoes, and deepsea exploration craft. Their homes are equally varied, with some boats being kept afloat or displayed in dry dock, while others are land cradled in museums or parks, sometimes many miles from the sea.
