Manannan damaged at Douglas

The Isle of Man Steam Packet catamaran Manannan collided with the Victoria Pier in Douglas while arriving on a scheduled crossing from Liverpool just after 2200 on 51 March. There was damage at the bow to the 96m Incat's starboard hull, and five injured passengers were taken to hospital. A statement from the Steam Packet said: 'Fast craft Manannan was in collision with Victoria Pier on arrival in Douglas, having left Liverpool at 1905. The Steam Packet is investigating the cause of the collision and Manannan will be assessed for damage.' The vessel's 0730 sailing to Liverpool and return on 1 April was cancelled, with passengers and vehicles transferred to a Heysham service by ro-pax vessel Ben-my- Chree. The Steam Packet also brought in ro-ro vessel Arrow to handle freight and free up space for more cars on Ben-My-Chree.
