A 'first of its kind' maritime security alert system has been launched onto the market which its owners say could revolutionise the way in which operators manage the risks of their vessels. The unique feature of MASS (Maritime Alerting Security System) is that the near real-time alerts are based on positional proximity, so only relevant data is delivered to vessels based on their geo-position location. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the company was developed through a partnership between IMSA (International Maritime Security Associates) and SRG Technology which provides the innovative software portal platform - Blender - having used it successfully in the education and welfare sectors.
