Small cat delivered for island supply role

UK boatbuilder South Boats, best known for its small fishing catamarans, has announced that the 25th vessel in its South Catamaran series, Maid Honor of Herm, has been delivered to owner Wood of Herm Island. It has been custom fitted-out for Herm, a small islana off Guernsey in the Channel Islands where it will be based in a supply and tourism support role. The builder reports that this represents its fourth new launch of 2004. Maid Honor of Herm measures 11m length overall, 5.03m in the beam, with a draught of 1.06m, and displacement of about 10,000kg with a full fuel and water load. The vessel has a 3.6m~2 wheelhouse fitted with a full galley, with storage, opposite a seating area that converts to a berth. The starboard helm and navigator's position alongside have twin KAB301 pneumatic seats. A sliding door is fitted to the side of the wheelhouse adjacent to the helm for easy access to the side deck and spring bollard, with a conventional opening door in the aft bulkhead. Two cabins with sanitary facilities are situated below, accessed by lockable side doors.
