The first Alpha Diesel control systems were simple and operationally very reliable, and therefore underwent little modification during their production span. The first remote-controlled system comprised a rod that led from the engine up through the deck to the wheelhouse, from where the skipper controlled the rev/min, clutch, and propeller pitch.
