Edinburgh-based Marineco UK will be the first to operate the new Damen-built HSSV 2610 and a second vessel, Marineco Mariah, is set to be delivered by the end of December 2011. With an already extensive fleet of Damen vessels, the enhanced capabilities of the two new Damen-built HSSV 2610s will put Marineco UK in a firm position to move into offshore wind farm support. Development within the renewable energy sector is driving growth in the offshore wind industry; with this comes the need for vessels capable of transferring crew to, and supplying, offshore wind farm installations in often difficult sea conditions.
