Alu Design revamps seats for cost savings

Norway-based Alu Design & Services has released revamped versions of two aluminium crew seats, for deployment in the wheelhouse. The Alutech 400 and 500 models build on the group's existing range of seats but have been constructed using a high-pressure die-casting technique, instead of the group's previous process of sand casting, thereby enabling Alu Design to reduce the weight of the seats and shave an estimated 20% off the total cost of manufacture and delivery.
