Siem Moxie is off the blocks

Norwegian operator Siem Offshore has taken delivery of its new 74m × 17m wind farm installation support vessel, Siem Moxie, which is to be chartered to renewable energy major e.on. The vessel is primarily intended to transport technicians to new offshore wind park sites to engage in set-up work prior to installation of connecting cables, as well as to erect new turbines and provide a means of maintaining existing ones on each array. Siem Moxie was delivered by Norway's Fjellstrand, having been built to Ulstein's SX 163 class, featuring the designer's trademark X-Bow design. Drawing 6.4m and accommodating up to 60 persons, the 2,835dwt vessel has commenced operations at e.oris Amrumbank West wind farm project in the North Sea, which is expected to deliver 288MW when it comes into service. There, she will be responsible for the installation of the inner array grid submarine cable system.
