As a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site, environmental protection figures pretty highly on the list of considerations for the Wadden Sea. Located in a south eastern pocket of the North Sea, and spanning the Dutch, German and Danish coastlines, the Wadden Sea is home to tidal creeks, mud flats and islands, the latter providing a thriving habitat for numerous fauna, including birds, fish, seals and dolphins - a factor that has made this area a popular draw with tourists.
