Pentium II SRAM Thermal Management

The Pentium II (Fig. 1) processor uses a single edge contact (S.E.C.) cartridge to allow use of widely available, high-performance, burst pipeline synchronous SRAMs for the dedicated L2 cache. The Pentium II uses the same multiprocessing system bus as the Pentium Pro. The L2 cache must be closely coupled to the core, and it is a combination of a TagRAM and multiple SRAMs. The SRAMs are packaged in 100 lead thin quad flat pack (TQFP) packages.
