This year's SEMICON Europa ― now in its 28th year ― will be held April 19-23 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany. A variety of conferences, courses, standards meetings and other meetings will be held all five days. The exhibition itself will be held three days, April 20-22, opening an hour earlier than previous years, at 9 a.m. The exhibition will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 4 p.m. on Thursday. It is a challenging time for SEMICON Europa as it struggles to adapt to a new world order. Europe is still a powerhouse when it comes to equipment and materials suppliers - 300 of SEMI's 2300 members are based in Europe, with the rest predominantly in the United States and Japan. But most of the industry's new construction is not in Europe, but rather in Asia, most notably China and the Pacific Rim.
