The dual emphasis on safe and environmentally friendly ship operations has created steady demand for a new generation of marine lubricants from leading producers such as Total, Chevron and Gulf Oil Marine.Lubmarine, a subsidiary of Total, believes that its Talusia Universal lubricant provides a simple cost effective answer. Introduced three years ago, the lubricant features reduced feed rates and can be used for fuel with differing sulphur contents. This removes the need to change lubricants when transiting ECAs and increases safety as there is no danger of mixing two differing fuel types in one tank.
