The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard, is one of the leading repair facilities in the Gulf, well positioned to fend off increased competition from new entrants in the region. Equipped with a 500,000dwt dry dock and two jetties since its inception in 1977, ASRY has since gone through various expansions. In 1992, two floating docks were added to accommodate vessels up to 120,000dwt and 80,000dwt respectively, and in 2008 the yard added two slipways each with a dry berth length of 255mtr and capacity of 5,000dwt.
