N.Y. Council Gives Book Award to Author Nathaniel Philbrick

The New York Navy League Council on June 6 presented author Nathaniel Philbrick with its Commodore John Barry Book Award for the quality of his historical work, "In the Hurricane's Eye: The Genius of George Washington and the Victory at Yorktown." New York Council President Charlie Blaich presented the award in conjunction with the awards dinner, which annually recognizes significant contributions to American maritime literature and was attended this year by 75 guests at historic Fraunces Tavern in New York City. Among the guests were Mary Nolan and many members of her Commodore Barry Club of Brooklyn.
