My original plan had been to go to college in ROTC and become an officer. But in my first year of college I realized I was wasting my own money paying for college and I was not performing. I was a little lost, so I needed structure. The Marine Corps recruiter called me, and I went into the office and interviewed. And the rest is really history. I'm with the 8th Communication Battalion, under the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Information Group, MIG. Specifically, I'm the operations chief for the Defensive Cyber Operations Company. The DCO Company was just stood up at the beginning of July of last year.
