BRIEFING: The AGM-65 Maverick — an air-to-surface tactical missile designed for close-air support, interdiction and defense suppression — is effective against a wide range of tactical targets including armor, air defense,ships, ground transportation and fuel storage facilities. Mavericks can be launched from high altitudes to treetop level and hit targets up to 13 nautical miles at medium altitude.
