St. Louis Council Hosts Naval Command College Class

The St. Louis Council hosted a reception March 30 for the 2011 class of the Naval Command College (NCC), who were visiting the area as part of a Field Studies Program tour of the Midwest. Fifty senior foreign military officers were among the more than 180 people who attended the event, held at the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis.Guest speaker was retired U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R.-Mo., who spoke of "The Importance of International Military Alliances to Global Security."The NCC is a part of the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. Each year, the chief of naval operations invites senior-grade military officers from around the world to participate in the NCC, which features 11 months of in-residence, graduate-level study.
