摘要

The aim of the present study is to compare the adsorption of chromium by three adsorbents i.e., acid and copper sulphate treated neem sawdust, acid treated neem sawdust and acid treated charcoal. The effect of contact time, adsorbent dosage, pH and initial concentration of the kinetics of adsorption was studied. It was observed that chromium removal increases with increase in contact time. The percentage of adsorption was found to increase with increasing adsorbent dosage. By decreasing the pH below 7 the adsorption increased. All the three adsorbents were found to follow first order kinetics and follow Freundlich adsorption isotherms.
