Women of Impact: Jocelyn Bell Burnell, The First Discoverer of Pulsars

National Geographic has just launched a Facebook project 'Women of Impact' in order 'to discover women who are breaking barriers in their fields, changing their communities, and inspiring global action'. The series started with the highlighting of the life and work of Jocelyn Bell Burnell (nee Susan Jocelyn Bell), the first discoverer of pulsars. In view of the immense scientific and societal contributions of this lady, her life and work are briefly presented herein.
