In some ways, malware has changed very little in the last few years. Malware authors are constantly pumping out ridiculously large numbers of new variants. They're following user trends to the most popular searches and to the most popular new technologies, then adapting to steal login credentials or financially lucrative data when they get there. Of course, this is the very high-level view of the situation. On the ground, by necessity, this means things are changing quite a lot. The internet is becoming ever more accessible and more familiar to increasing numbers of users, which in turn speeds up the pace of technology trends.
