Launch services and Earth observation tipped to see next IPOs in satellite sector

The launch and Earth observation sectors are among those with potential for public offerings following the 28 October debut of space tourism company Virgin Galactic Holdings on the New York Stock Exchange. Investor interest in space is booming, as Morgan Stanley predicted in July it could become a trillion-dollar industry by 2040. Several stock indices are near their all-time highs, including the technology-laden NASDAQ Composite. It is above 8,000 points, 60% higher than in late 2016, though the index briefly plummeted in late 2018 amid trade wars, recession worries and political turmoil.
