L-band's maritime broadband role in focus under Thuraya/ITC Global alliance

L-bands importance for maritime customers upgrading to higher-speed VSAT broadband services is being underlined by Thuraya's spectrum alliance with ITC Global. The partnership combining Thuraya's L-band with ITC Global's Ku-band in a new service called Thuraya VSAT+ comes after Panasonic Avionics, the latter's parent, joined forces with satellite operator Inmarsat in a similar deal for aviation.
