A day in the life of the Dover Strait

The collision between the Tricolor and Kariba, and the subsequent farcical strandings of the Nicola and Vicky, did not (thankfully) have the same tragic result as the events of January 1971. Then, 51 seafarers lost their lives in very similar circumstances, but the incidents do show the consequences of mistakes and errors in such a congested area. Therefore, it would appear to be a timely moment to report on my research into collision avoidance in this region.
