Would faster detection times in norovirus be beneficial? "If you are at sea, where you can't get the samples off, yes it would," declared Captain Jaret Ames, chief of the Vessel Sanitation Programme (VSP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He added the proviso that the detection needs to be accurate. "There is error involved with any test and if it is not accurate then it is not going to be beneficial at all."
